We may feel some attachment to the locations we’ve lived from childhood to the present day, but as adults we may see these places as being separate from our inner selves and who we are. How much is a person’s consciousness, psychology and outlook influenced by the place where they live? Or do these aspects of a person come from within them, via their brain, soul or personality? As the grass starts to grow beneath my feet psychologically, my home isn’t just the place where I am in the world; it is a part of who I am.
The photographs within this series depict the town that has become my ‘home’. The project is the result of two weeks visually wandering around on a walking ‘road trip’. At the end of every day I would always find my way back home and feel like I’d got to know this town where I live just that little bit more.
